An Attorney Who Knows Your Journey Firsthand
Gopal Shah is not just an advocate for immigrants — he is one. Born and raised in Nepal, he came to the United States as an adult with a vision for his family’s future and a commitment to building something meaningful. That personal experience as an immigrant is the foundation of everything he does for his clients.
Attorney Shah understands firsthand how challenging, stressful, and emotionally draining the immigration process can be. He also knows the profound rewards waiting on the other side — and he is driven every day to help his clients get there.
Committed to You
Being an immigrant himself, Gopal Shah brings more than legal knowledge to your case — he brings empathy, patience, and a deep personal understanding of what is at stake. His clients often describe feeling like part of a larger family, and that sense of belonging is intentional.
Attorney Shah is actively engaged with immigrant communities throughout the Bay Area. He regularly speaks at community events and participates in programs designed to educate and empower immigrants as they navigate life in the United States.
Whatever your American dream looks like, Attorney Shah is committed to helping you achieve it — by guiding you through the U.S. immigration system with skill, clarity, and genuine care.
Experienced Across Borders
Gopal Shah’s legal experience is both broad and international. He began his career as a founding partner at Shah & Attorneys in Kathmandu, Nepal, giving him a rare global perspective on legal practice. After relocating to the United States, he earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco and went on to serve as a Legal Consultant at The Bhatta Law Firm, PC in New York, NY.
Today, Attorney Shah is the founder of Gopal Shah Immigration PC, based in Berkeley, California. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and provides immigration legal representation to clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and across the country. He dedicates his practice exclusively to U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law — because specialization matters when your case matters most.
